The Holy Month of Ramadan, 2008.
As the United Arab Emirates
is a country of Muslim faith, we
will be observing the Muslim tradition during the Holy
Month of Ramadan which is expected to last from
around the 2nd of September 2008 to 2nd of October 2008,
but this could vary slightly depending on the sightings of the moon 24
hrs prior. This month is viewed by many as a special period
to experience the best of the Arabic culture and its values.
In line with the above, the following restrictions will apply:
- No food, drinks, smoking or gum-chewing should be consumed
in public places (open areas) during the day-light hours. Areas such as
beach, swimming pools & hotel lobbies do not serve food or
drinks until sunset (the exact timing changes everyday and is announced
on a daily basis)
- Alcohol will not be available in open restaurants &
bars and will only be served in closed restaurants and bars between
1900 hrs and 0300 hrs (UAE time). Alcohol is readily available through
Palace Ceremony and in the minibar of room/suite. Any change to this
rule made by the Government of Abu Dhabi will be amended accordingly.
- No live entertainment during the entire month of Ramadan
except for traditional soft Arabic music.
- Both East Wing relaxation pool & West Wing
adventure pool will remain operational.
Do not forget the Ramadan Special
commencing the 2nd of September till the 2nd of October
(inclusive) which entitles guests having minimum stay of 5 nights
within the mentioned period (with latest arrival on September 28,
2008), to complimentary Half Board. All Half Board guest will be
entitled to the following dining options:
- Buffet Lunch / Dinner at Le Vendome Brasserie with
alternative of Ramadan Tent during Iftar ;
- Dinner entitlement is extended to a 3-course set menu in
any of the following restaurants: Mezzaluna, Sayad, Diwan L'Auberge,
Anar, Embassy Club, Cascades, Las Brisas;
- 100 AED credit per person will be available for A La Carte
orders in Mezzaluna, Sayad, Diwan L'Auberge, Anar, Embassy Club and
Ramadan Tent;

RAMADAN 2008 Food & Beverage Facilities
1. Le Vendome Brasserie
- All day dining restaurant with international buffet and a
la carte menu
- Located on lobby level (Level 4) with terrace views over
the beach and the marina
- Breakfast buffet from 0630 hrs to 1100 hrs
- Lunch buffet from 12:30 hrs to 15:30 hrs
- Dinner buffet from 18:00 hrs to 23:30 hrs
- Al la carte order available from 12:30hrs to 23:30hrs
- Half Board supplement only applies to Buffet Lunch/ Dinner
at Le Vendome
- No alcohol will be served on the terrace of Le Vendome
- Reservation required for lunch and dinner, no reservation
will be granted for breakfast
2. Mezzaluna
- Mediterranean kitchen with a variety of flavors from Italy
- 2 private dining rooms (20 pax & 10 pax)
- Located on ground floor (Level 1) with views of beach and
gulf
- Dinner service only from 18:00 to 23:00
- 3 course Set-menu available for half board (food only) or
100 AED allowance per person will be deducted for A la carte orders only
3. Sayad
- Pacific Rim cuisine
- "Flagship" restaurant for the Palace offering fine dining
experience
- 2 Private dining rooms for 6 to 8 person each
- Located on ground floor (Level 1) with views of beach and
gulf
- Dinner service only from 18:00 to 23:00
- 3 course Set-menu available for half board (food only) or
100 AED allowance per person will be deducted for A la carte orders only
4. Las Brisas & Cascades
- East & West Wing pool side restaurants
- Alcohol will be available in the pool tents upon local
regulation approval (to be confirmed)
- Service from 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs only available in
enclosed tents respectively on East & West Wing pool areas.
- 3 course Set-menu available for half board (food only) from
18:00 to 21:00
5. Havana Bar
- Cuban lounge & bar offering light snacks &
canapés
- Wide selection of cigars
- Extensive cocktail and spirits selection with rarities from
France (cognac & armagnac), Cuba and the Carribean
- Located on lobby level (Level 4)
- Service for evening and late night time 1900 hrs to 0200 hrs
6. Caviar Bar
- Serving a fine selection of caviar
- Located on lobby level (Level 4)
- No alcohol served during the holy month of Ramadan
- Service available from 1900 hrs to 0100 hrs
7. Le Café
- Viennese style Café House serving pastries, cakes, and
sandwiches
- Located on Lobby level (Level 4)
- No Alcohol served during the holy month of Ramadan
- Service available from 1900 hrs to 0100 hrs
8. Palace Ceremony
- Normal operation (24 hrs)
- Alcohol will be served in the room/ suite (24 hours)
- Minibar in room/ suites fully stocked (alcoholic &
non alcoholic beverages/ snacks)
- Room service orders are not included in the half board
package
9. Diwan L'Auberge
- Lebanese cuisine
- Private dining rooms serving 20 guests
- Located on ground floor (Level 1) with views of beach and
gulf
- Service available from sunset to 0200 hrs
- 3 course Set-menu available for half board (food only)
(20:00 to 23:30) or 100 AED allowance per person will be deducted for A
la carte orders only
10. Anar Persian Cuisine
- Persian cuisine
- Set menu
- Located on lobby level (Level 4) with terrace views over
the beach & the marina
- Service available from sunset to 2330 hrs
- 3 course Set-menu available for half board (food only)
(20:00 to 23:30) or 100 AED allowance per person will be deducted for A
la carte orders only
11. Ramadan Tent
- Traditional Arabic setting with live soft music
- Iftar service will commence from sunset to 1930 hrs
- Sohour service will commence at 2000 hrs to 0130 hrs
- Half Board guest are entitled to Iftar Buffet
12. Embassy Club
- European Modern restaurant and lounge
- Open for lunch from 12noon to 15:00 and Dinner from 18:00
to 23:30
- Shisha Lounge with alcohol available from 23:30 to 2am daily
- Located on lobby level (Level 4) with views of beach and
gulf
- 3 course Set-menu available for half board (food only) or
100 AED allowance per person will be deducted for A la carte orders only
Half Board Guests
- Breakfast will be served in the Le Vendome Brasserie and
additional venue if required.
- Half board Entitlement is available for Lunch and Dinner in
Vendome
- Drinks are not included (water/ soft drinks/ juice / hot
beverage) in half board package
- Entitlement includes buffet lunch/dinner in Le Vendome and
Iftar (dinner only) in the Ramadan Tent.
- Two reservation seatings (from 18:00 to 20:00 and 20:30 to
end) will be available for dinner in Mezzaluna, Le Vendome, Embassy
Club and Sayad via restaurant reservation ext 7999.
- Dinner entitlement is extended to 3 course set menu
Mezzaluna, Sayad, Cascade Auberge, Anar and Embassy Club (see condition

- AED 100 credit per person will be available for A la Carte
orders in Mezzaluna, Sayad, Auberge, Anar, Ramadan Tent and Embassy

Past experience shows that during Ramadan period (normally the
restaurants), particularly Le Vendome constitutes high demand. In order
to facilitate and ensure a comfortable dining experience, an additional
venue may be set up to accommodate the guests for breakfast and dinner.
